COVID-19 DAILY UPDATE: 03.16.20

Posted On: March 16, 2020

Dear KIPP Philadelphia Families-

Please know that as we all navigate this crisis you, our families, and our students, are at the center of our thoughts. We want to ensure that our students still receive breakfast and lunch this week. To limit the amount of travel required by families – we are setting up two pick up sites for our families:

  1. KIPP West Philadelphia Elementary Academy – 5070 Parkside Ave. Families can enter the building from Parkside Ave through the purple door (next to the bright yellow KIPP West awning).
  2. KIPP North Philadelphia Academy – 2539 N 16th Street. Families can enter through the KNPA door that is facing Cumberland Street (next to the playground).

Additionally, we will have school packets ready for each student and Chromebooks for our high school students.

You can pick up food from either location but when possible go to the specific locations below where we have student specific packets:

Food and packet pickup is from 10AM – 2PM tomorrow, March 17, 2020 at both campuses.

You will be able to pick up breakfast and lunch for the week.  Please note that we have implemented protocols for tomorrow that will limit social/close interaction and keep everyone as safe as possible.

Additionally, you can pick up food at a School District of Philadelphia location Monday – Friday.  Go HERE for more details and site locations.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s principal if you have questions or concerns. We will continue to send you daily updates to ensure that we all are well-informed and connected. Tomorrow, I will be sharing information about how to keep your child engaged and maintain learning during this time. We will also update social media frequently.

Take care,

Jessica Cunningham Akoto, CEO
