Reina Wilkes Prowler said “education equity is what motivates me personally.” So she chose to pursue finance through that lens following a stint at Bloomberg in New York. Since, she’s dedicated her career to education, first at KIPP Philadelphia Schools, where under her financial leadership the operating budget increased 86%, and presently at Children’s Literacy Initiative. The Philadelphia organization has a nationwide reach, with the goal of supporting educators working with “high-need student populations” to increase literacy.
