At KIPP Philadelphia, we believe our students come to us with inherent brilliance — and it’s our responsibility to help them bring it fully to life. Our new Five-Year Strategic Plan (2025–2030) is more than a roadmap; it’s a call to action shaped by hundreds of voices across our community.
At its center is the Portrait of a Graduate, our North Star. It defines the knowledge, skills, and mindsets we want every student to develop as they move through our schools and into the world.
We’re proud of how far we’ve come and focused on where we’re headed next. Together, we’re creating schools where students thrive, educators feel supported, and our community moves forward with shared purpose.

Our Mission
Together with families and communities, we cultivate spaces where students feel inspired, challenged, and supported, preparing them with the skills and confidence they need to pursue the paths they choose (college, career, and beyond) so they can lead fulfilling lives and build a more just world.
Our strategic plan builds on this mission by aligning every goal and investment around student success and community partnership.

The Portrait of a Graduate
The Portrait of a Graduate defines what it means to be a KIPP Philly student: confident in who they are and ready to shape the world around them. It guides everything we do, from instruction to school culture to how we partner with families.
Pride in Self
- Students recognize their value and show up as their true selves.
- Measured by the percentage of students agreeing with “I like the way I am.”
Pursuit of Learning
- Students think critically, ask questions, and explore their passions.
- Measured by proficiency on Keystone and PSSA exams.
Perseverance to Achieve
- Students set goals and rise to challenges.
- Measured by attendance and graduation rates.
Power of Voice
- Students listen, advocate, and make an impact in their communities.
- Measured by completion of aligned portfolios or projects.
