Enrollment for 2026–27 Is Still Open

Applications for the 2026–27 school year are open through the Apply Philly Charter portal. Families may apply at any time.

KIPP Philadelphia is enrolling on a rolling basis, with seats offered as they become available.

We encourage families to apply as soon as possible.

How the New Application Process Works

Philadelphia’s charter school application process has changed. Every family should know:

Apply through Apply Philly Charter (APC)
Submit one application to up to 15 schools.

You will receive one offer
Your child will get an offer from the highest-ranked school on your list with available space.

Rank order matters
If a KIPP Philadelphia Public School is your top choice, ranking your KIPP Philadelphia school of choice #1 gives your child the best chance of receiving an offer.

You can edit your list until January 20
Log in and update your school rankings anytime before the deadline.

Lottery results arrive February 6
Families must accept their offer by February 20.

What You Should Know

How the Application Process Works Now

The 2026–27 school year is now in the post-lottery phase.

Families can apply directly to the school(s) they are interested in through the Apply Philly Charter portal.

No ranking is required during this period. Ranking only applied during the Single Best Offer lottery window.

Once submitted, applicants are automatically placed on the school’s waitlist and assigned a waitlist number.

Students in Priority Group 1 — including siblings of current students, children of staff or board members, and current KIPP Philadelphia 8th graders applying to KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy — will automatically move to the top of the waitlist.

KIPP Philadelphia is operating on a rolling waitlist process. Families will be contacted as seats become available.

What Is Single Best Offer?

A fair, citywide system that matches families with their top school choice.

Apply Philly Charter uses Single Best Offer to run all charter school lotteries. Families submit one application and receive one offer based on their ranked preferences and available seats.

How it works:

  • You rank schools in order of preference.
  • The system reviews your list from top to bottom.
  • You receive one offer from the highest-ranked school with available space.
  • If your first choice is full, your next choice is considered automatically.

Why ranking matters: If a KIPP Philadelphia Public School is your top choice, ranking it #1 gives your child the best chance of receiving an offer.
